Otherwise, it still makes sense to try to flash the chip. If the "bad sector" is on the first third of the chip, the device probably will work. If that doesn't work then you need to change the chip or reshape the firmware, by sliding the block of data that which gets on bad sector, on at 0x21000 bytes and mark it in the table of "bad blocks”, either manually or using a special program to convert the firmware.
